V for Victory

It seems like Victoria Beckham has learnt something from her friend Marc Jacob, with her new clothing campaign. The impending, much awaited Victoria by Victoria Beckham collectionn is due this Spring and the new campaign images have put a smile on my face. The images are bright and playful, a side not often seen from Victoria, but then again this is the ‘younger sister’ range. Quentin Jones has filmed a video, but here are the stills, the collections looking good!

Versace Couture

Versace couture pictures just up from this morning, the first show since 2004 – the front row was strong Diane Kruger and Cameron Diaz were there. The collection had quite a space-age futuristic feel in a 50’s style Barbarella way. All white, angular with structured cut outs gives a strong look coinciding with the Versace women. The palette was rather neutral with neon pops of yellow, orange and green. What do you think?

The Star Spangled Minotaur

Givenchy is fast becoming one of my favourite designers, and thats a serious compliment coming from indecisive me. What’s cemented that decision is the Fall 2012 Menswear collection. When I read the theme and title of the Menswear show it put a huge grin on my face as, as a self-confessed history nerd, Greek Mythology is my ultimate topic.

However, I am still having dreams about the panther and orchid prints shown in RTW 2011 – I missed the entire season being away. Still my favourite collection.

Cold Snap

Coming back to the UK this week, I have not been prepared for the weather at all. I have been enjoying far too much bikini and summer dress time. My wardrobe is not kitted out for this horrendous cold, so I have come up with inspiration taken from Carries scarf in Sex and the City to knit my own. I haven’t knitted in years so I thought it would be good to pull my needles out and buy some chunky yarn in a wintery hue. The red is a good colour but I want to make it my own and I have been fascinated by racing green recently so I am starting there and seeing where the needles will take me. Hopefully to a new snug outfit, lets see how long it will take to appear.

Golden Globes

All anyone really wants to know about at awards ceremonies, are the frocks.
These are my favourite of favourites.

As a massive Reece Witherspoon fan, she looked amazing. The red Zan Posen number really suits her skin tone. Salma Hayek looked an absolute knock out in her Gucci dress, really emphasising her figure. Laura Dern’s emerald green frock made me green with envy, my favourite shade of the moment. Julie Bowen’s dress stole the show, a beautiful lady like creation by Reem Acra.

New Owner for Fahri

The new Fahri buyout has happened less then two years after it’s last takeover to new Owners – Opengate Capital. Reports state that this will be a positive change and will allow the brand to grow and establish itself overseas. I can only hope Nicole Farhi receives the recognition it deserves as a brand and can gain more appreciation from new fashion followers. I was interning for Nicole Farhi during the last buyout and internally not a lot altered, the staff are amazing and great at what they do. Nicki will be great as the new ceo taking the brand to New York, after the new Bond Street store unveiled I can’t wait to see the New York standalone store.

Look familiar?

Does this look familiar? Yes, the most recognisable dress from the Victoria Beckham ‘Victoria’ collection is now on sale at River Island. River Island spot on trend for Spring/Summer 12, creating this version of dress that she has worn herself at a mere £28. Wear with some black ankle boots and a leather jacket to toughen up this girly dress.
